Down at the Dock

Stealer broke its six-month hiatus and marked Paul's reunion with a homecoming gig at the Dock Tavern in Gorleston. Yes, there were some Senior Moments, and a few Senior Quarters-Of-An-Hour, but it was great to be playing music in front of people once again. You can hear some highlights here.

Back at the Chicken Shack

Just to show you we mean it, here we are at the Secret Location rehearsing for our upcoming date at the Dock Tavern on 5 December (see our gig page for full details.) Everyone in the band is accounted for except Henry, because we forgot to bring our extra wide-angle lens in that day.

Dock and Dates

Make a note in your diaries, pop pickers, for Saturday 5 December, for that's when we shall be playing at the Dock Tavern in Gorleston. This'll be our first live date after almost six months spent dead for tax reasons, and marks the return of Paul Noon to the microphone. It's sure to be an exciting night.

Meanwhile, be sure to bookmark our Gigs Page and watch out for us in the Norfolk Gig Guide as we get bookings in for 2016. We've just added some dates at the Walnut Tree Shades in Norwich to add to a roster of dates at the Reefs Bar in Sea Palling, the Brickmakers in Norwich and the King's Arms in North Walsham, and there'll be more to come.

Stay, as they say, Tuned.

Baby Stealers

Our mailbox has been deluged with a communication from Stealer fan Mr O. E. of Derby who sent this shot of a Stealer member, taken in May or June 1988 in what is now Cambridge. Hasn't changed a bit, the years have been kind, must have a portrait in his attic etc etc.
While we're about it, here are two more shots of Stealers in more carefree days. Not so much Down Memory Lane as Murders in the Rue Morgue? See if you can guess who they are. Answers on a postcard please…

Three From The Reefs

Thanks to the ever-lovely Hazel and Pete at the Reefs Bar in Sea Palling for being the first to chalk up Stealer gigs for 2016.

* Headbang away those post-Christmas hangovers on 9 January;

* Welcome a seaside springtime on 21 May;

* Who needs fireworks when Norfolk's best classic rock covers band will be laying down an explosive set on 5 November?

For a foretaste, listen to some vintage live recordings on Soundcloud.

As ever, bookmark our gigs page for updates when they happen.

Yes, Paul Noon is in the Building. In Da House. Returning refreshed to the Microphone.

Gig news as it happens.

Watch, as they say, this space.

At The Brickmakers

Last night at the Brickmakers Stealer was ably supported by Gentlemen, an up-and-coming trio from Cromer -

… and then we got down to work. Enjoy, if you will, this video clip

… and savour these happy snaps. All photography by Phoebe Gee. Oh - and we got another booking, on Fri 23 October.

Coming Up: At the Brickmakers with Gentlemen

A quick word about an upcoming gig - after a very long absence Stealer returns to the Brickmakers in Norwich. We'll be playing there on Thursday 18 June, and we'll have support in the form of Gentlemen, a terrific young rock trio from Cromer.

Gentlemen play a mix of rock covers and originals and are beginning to cause quite a commotion. We first saw them in action when we shared the bill at Rock Bodham last year. You can find out more on their Facebook Page.

Gentlemen will take the stage at 8pm, and youth will give way to experience at 9.30. Should be a fun night.

The Concert from Wounded Knee

Here's a taster of last night's gig at the King's Head in Loddon. We're quite pleased with it - even more so as Craig had injured his right knee rather badly a few days before and was playing through the pain. Ouch.

Loddon Again

This coming Saturday we'll be paying the several visits this year to the King's Head, tucked away in the picturesque village of Loddon. It's a friendly and laidback place - looking forward to seeing you all there. And if you get there a bit early and feel peckish, no worries. There's a great chippie across the road.

We Get Around

Here in Stealer's secret underground bunker we have one of those chart tables showing all the places we've played, and all the places where we're booked, and here it is.

I regret I can't show you the lovely young ladies in old-fashioned nylons and well-pressed uniforms who push all the little pieces around on the board as new gig announcements come in.

There are quite a few places on the map left to be coloured in...

From the Grapes

Last night we all got our visas to cross the border … into Suffolk, where we played the Grapes in Bury St Edmunds, one of the premier rock venues in East Anglia. Here's Kevin and Gary rocking out …

It was a slow start but the joint really started jumping after midnight when the audience was swelled by a giant pink rabbit. At least, according to Henry, who was the only person who admitted to seeing it. We'll be back at the Grapes on 3 July. In the meantime our next gig is on 24 April at the Unicorn in Aylsham … enough time to get a few new songs into the set.

Stealer at the Grapes

This Friday, 20 March, we'll be packing our passports and crossing the border to play in the Deep South - Bury St Edmunds, to be precise, at the Grapes, one of East Anglia's premier rock venues. We are really excited about this. We hope you'll be able to join us.

Down at the Dock

Thanks to everyone who came to pack out the Dock Tavern in Gorleston tonight (21st February) for our first gig in seven months, and the first with Iain out the front. If you had half as much fun as we did, then we had twice as much fun as you did.

We've posted a selection of tracks on Soundcloud (yes, I guess you had to be there.) And here are a couple of happy snaps. We are always pleased to have more! Feel free to upload them to our tumblr account.

Gorleston Calling ...

Here we are earlier today having a full-dress rehearsal for our upcoming gigs, which start at the Dock Tavern in Gorleston on 21 February.

And let's have a warm welcome for Kevin Mason, our new man on the desk!
