Cool Yule, Y'All

Stealer would like to wish the world and elsewhere all the best for the festive season - and point out that  the 2013 'After The Apocalypse' tour is shaping up nicely. We'll be off the road in January rehearsing a new set that'll be full of classic rock surprises, and we have a goodly clutch of dates already arranged for 2013. Hoping to see you at some of them.

Oakwood Gig Is Off

Sad to say we've had to cancel our gig at the Oakwood on 7 December - Paul's voice needs a couple of months' rest. We'll be back in February. Happy Christmas to all who have supported us over the past year. See you in 2013!

New Gig Date, New Venue

O'Grady's in Great Yarmouth has been transformed into the Oakwood, and Stealer will be playing there on 7 December. (This replaces the cancelled gig on 22nd December.) Come on down and we'll party like it's the End of the World!

The Stealer demo is here!

Stealer spent a wonderful time at Ashwood Studios in Norwich, royally looked after by studio manager Ashley and engineer Sotos. The result of two and a half days hard work can be found here. Enjoy!

New EGG

The new issue of the Eastern Gig'n'Grub Guide features Paul Noon as 'Hunk of the Month'. He attracts a lot of pussy attention.

Salhouse In The Spring

Thanks to the good offices of our friend Maddie Bell from the Eastern Gig'n'Grub Guide, Stealer will be playing at the NOTAS annual charity motorcycle run and after party on Saturday 6 April 2013 at the Salhouse Lodge, Vicarage Road, Salhouse, Norwich NR13 6HD. The charity is C. A. L. M., the Campaign Against Living Miserably - whose aim is to keep young men from committing suicide. And NOTAS? That's an informal group of bikers with no organization or political stance, which exists to promote the fellowship of bikers. Their motto is 'Ride Safe, Ride Free, and Whose Round Is It?' which in Latin is probably something like Perequito Cum Incolumitas, Perequito Cum Libertas, Qui Possit Emi Cervisia? If this is wrong, and it's really Romani Ite Domum, then don't blame me, blame Google Translate.

The Lady Of The Lake - 12 October

Here are some atmospheric pictures by Der Ritter Pieter von Sutton of the Stealer concert at the Lady of the Lake in Oulton Broad, Friday 12 October.

Stealer In The Studio

This weekend Stealer has been in the very excellent Ashwood Studios just outside Norwich recording a demo disc, tempting venues into giving us bookings, for the use of. It's not quite finished yet, but when it is we'll post the contents here. Maddie Bell of the Eastern Gig Guide has already had a sneak preview of the goodies on offer. The demo has five tracks - Highway Star, Perfect Strangers, Wishing Well, Rock'n'Roll and Breaking The Law. Here are a couple of pics of the band doing its stuff.

Moving On

Thanks to all those who came to see us rock the King Eddie's last Saturday. We'll probably be there again in 2013, so stay tuned. Here is a keyboard player's eye view of the band in action.
But wait, there's more! We're at the Tramway in Gorleston this Saturday, 6 Oct, and on Friday 12 Oct we cross the border to play at the Lady of the Lake in Oulton Broad. A quiet weekend after that, to relax? Not likely - the morning after we'll be in the studio to make a demo to kick off our 2013 campaign. Are we busy, pop pickers? Not 'arf.

Another Gig Date For Your Diary

Stealer will kick off its 2013 campaign with a date on Saturday 2 February at the Lord Nelson in Gorleston. We won't be gigging at all in January. This doesn't mean we'll be idle, oh no, not a bit of it. We'll be rehearsing hard at the Secret Location and revamping the set, reintroducing some old favourites and some new surprises with which to assault your ear 'oles.

Stealer News

A few items to catch up.

First, a big thank-you to those who made our gig at the King's Arms in North Walsham on 1 September such a pleasure. We really must play to hen parties more often. And Trevor, you can be our roadie anytime.

Second, a reminder that we'll be playing at the Rockstock open-air festival at Overstrand sports ground on Saturday 8 September. We're on quite early in the afternoon - about 3.30pm.

Finally, our gig at O'Grady's in Yarmouth on 15 Sept has been cancelled.

Loddon Calling

Here's a keyboard-player's eye view of the Stealer gig at the King's Head in Loddon yesterday...
... and here is Mr Paul Noon, lead vocalist, relaxing afterwards. He looks uncannily like the late George V, King of the United Kingdom and its Dominions and Emperor of India. Are they by any chance related? I think we should be told.

EGG review

Maddie Bell from the Eastern Gig Guide enjoyed the Stealer gig at the Brickmakers. Here's her review in the August issue:

Stealer are fairly new in the local scene but played a great set of popular covers which will probably get them the reputation for being one of the best local rock bands on the scene, these guys will soon be getting Norfolk and Suffolk rocking and come complete with their very own ace keyboard player just to get the crowd rockin' some more.

Thanks Maddie! Thus encouraged Stealer will be playing at the King's Head on Loddon on 4 August.

Live - from the Brickmakers

On 28 June the Majesty and Mystery that is Stealer enjoyed the hospitality of the Brickmakers in Norwich. You can listen to some of it here. While you are enjoying that, you might wish to peruse a selection of images kindly supplied by Il Maestro Pietro Di Suttoni and his Box Brownie.

Say 'Nul Points' to Eurovision!

Are you in danger of spending tomorrow night (that's Saturday, 26 May)  trapped at home, strapped to a chair, your eyes kept open with forks, crocodile clips attached to tender regions of your anatomy, and forced to watch the Eurovision Song Contest? Your potential suffering is at an end - come to the Kings Head in Loddon and watch Stealer instead.

Nothing beats a fresh EGG

Maddie at the Eastern Gig Guide (you can download it here) gives Stealer a rockin' write up in the June issue:
'Classic rock covers band Stealer are on tour around some of our local music venues around Norfolk and Suffolk and claim to provide some great head banging material so if that is your kinda thing be sure to check them out before the end of the world'.
Thanks Maddie - hopefully see you at the Brickmakers on 28th June.

Just a quick post to wish a big Stealer thank-you to those who defied the gods of UEFA and came to see the Official Relaunch of Stealer at O'Grady's in Yarmouth. Here are some happy revellers... Thanks to Kas and all her staff for a warm welcome - looking forward to seeing you again on 21 July.
